FootJoy has dropped a new lineup of clothing inspired by legendary New York Fashion Designer Todd Snyder. "The Back Tees" brings golf fashion inspired by the game's most iconic names and combines them with modern looks and a classic feel.

Snyder and FootJoy collaborated on the effort to create contemporary interpretations of 60s and 70s golf fashion, emphasizing the same looks and materials that would have been prevalent in the game in those days. The lineup features refined fabrics — including pique polos, mercerized sweaters, and cotton/cashmere sweatshirts — but reinterpreted in a modern way. Blacks, blues, and olives make up The Back Tees look, along with geometric and jacquard prints and two new premium pebble-grain leather golf shoes that are based on the Wilcox and Field Premiere series.

Snyder and FootJoy are embarking on their second collaboration with "The Back Tees," and since their initial link up in Spring 2021, the unique look and style that the fashion brings to golf has equated in strong customer acquisition and retention strategy, FootJoy said.

Snyder said:

"I am so excited to be working with FootJoy again to create a collection worthy of the pro tees, we’ve taken some of our favorite design details from the golden age of golf–including the luster of mercerized cotton sweater polos and the brogueing on a bespoke golf shoe–and combined them with state-of-the-art technology and modern style. Because one thing that I’ve learned in my years on the links is that you can't always be the best player in your foursome, but if you’re wearing our collection, you can certainly be the most stylish."

FootJoy is known for its clean and sharp looks on the golf course with its everyday releases, and its polos are some of the best in the industry. Its clothing lineup has multiple fits and styles that cater to every golfer's preferences, but the company has also comes out with releases that are developed by some notable names in fashion.

The FootJoy x Todd Snyder collection will drop May 18 at 10 AM ET and will be available at both ToddSnyder.com and FootJoy.com, as well as select retail locations.

PGA Championship Entry List Revealed: Woods & Garcia Both Out

Joey has been a journalist for over three years, covering various topics in the automotive and sports industries. He has been a passionate golfer for around six years, but has been a fan of the game for much longer. His earliest memories of golf are watching The Masters and learning the game with friends at courses local to him in Pennsylvania, which, despite the challenging climate, he plays year-round. He has attended several golf tournaments, including the BMW Championship in 2021 and 2022, and has been denied (what should be) a record 12 times for The Masters' annual ticket lottery. In his bag, Joey currently plays the TaylorMade Stealth Driver and 3 Wood, TSi2 19° Hybrid, Titleist T300 irons, Callaway Mack Daddy and Tommy Armour Wedges, and a TaylorMade Spider Putter. adidas is a well-established brand that has woven its way into sport and culture. With iconic shoes like the Samba, Stan Smith, and Superstar, adidas has developed iconic looks that feel like they belong everywhere, including on the fairways and greens of your favorite course.

A post shared by adidas Golf (@adidasgolf)

Starting today, May 12, adidas Golf is releasing a limited-edition capsule with golf models of all three on its website, the adidas app, and select retailers. Each features a waterproof microfiber leather upper and other golf-specific technology to help support traction and stability.

Superstar Golf

Previously released in 2020, the Superstar Golf makes its return to the course featuring the iconic 3-Stripes in the midfoot and distinctive white rubber shell toe.

The marbled multi-color outsole combines grey, sliver green, collegiate burgundy, and semi-solar orange colorways and includes six strategically placed replaceable black cleats with secondary lugs to give golfers the traction they need throughout the swing. Superstar naming is subtly debossed in the midfoot to allow golfers to make a style statement as they head to the range or first tee.

Samba Golf

Also introduced in 2022, the Samba Golf brings the versatile design to golf for the first time in the history of the brand. As part of this collection, the model features the adiwear spikeless outsole with additional EVA cushioning in the midsole to provide golf-specific support and stability.

The all-white outsole includes three lugs in the same multi-colored marbled colorway to provide additional traction, located in place of the suction cups commonly found in adidas in-line Samba model. This Samba Golf features an all-grey upper with Samba discreetly debossed on the midsole with a dark brown heel tab.

Stan Smith Golf

2021 was the year the Stan Smith silhouette made its mark on the course through an upper made in part with recycled materials. This version of the Stan Smith Golf combines the classic and clean look with the adiwear rubber spikeless outsole, which still features traction inspired by the shoe's original sole design.

Additional PU cushioning in the midsole will provide golfers with added support throughout the swing. The sleek all-grey upper is contrasted by the same multi-colored marbled outsole with a debossed Trefoil and Stan Smith logo on the heel to make this shoe pop on the fairways.

A few weeks ago, it was announced that Dustin Johnson would part with long-time partner, adidas Golf. The unexpected split was apparently mutual, and explained that DJ is looking to go all in on LIV's team aspect by searching for an apparel partner that can outfit his entire team, rather than himself alone.

A post shared by Eric B. (@hozel_rocket)

While preparing for the LIV Golf Orlando Event (March 31 – April 2), DJ was spotted wearing what appears to be the FootJoy Premiere Series, specifically the Packards in White.

This wouldn't be earth shattering or even newsworthy alone, but many may recall that Tiger Woods first started wearing FootJoy Premiere's almost a year ago, rather than Nike footwear.

The switch, therefore, is due some additional attention, as it seems there is a clear trend among some of the game's best that they gravitate to FootJoy when they’re not constrained by deal limitations.

Those who take a closer look will also notice that DJ is wearing a 4 Aces GC branded polo. It is not immediately clear what apparel brand is the maker of this "uniform," but rumors are that DJ will confirm during the LIV Orlando event or before the Masters (presuming eagle-eyed viewers cannot identify the maker beforehand).

It is worth noting that several of the 4 Aces—Peter Uihlein and Patrick Reed—are FootJoy fans. Pat Perez, however, appears to committed to his Jordan partnership (jealous).
