Aquin runs community shoe drive for Lent

This Lenten season, Aquin Catholic School is sponsoring a shoe collection drive through the Soles 4 Souls organization. Soles 4 Souls began in 2005 in response to losses suffered from Hurricane Katrina and focuses on using shoes to help people throughout the world.

Soles 4 Souls has three sub-programs designed to help different groups in need: "Soles 4 Relief" sends new shoes to people who may need relief from natural disasters like hurricanes, flooding and tornadoes; "Soles 4 Every Kid" provides new shoes for young people in the United States who may be homeless or living in poverty without nice shoes to wear to school; at Aquin, fourth-grade teacher Liz Lensen is spearheading the shoe collection for the third sub-program, "Soles 4 Opportunity."
