Arriving alongside the brand's Blue Version line
There are few shoes as versatile or popular as the Stan Smith. Since making its tennis court debut in the mid-Sixties (it was originally named after French player Robert Haillet, before taking the moustachioed Wimbledon winner's likeness in the Seventies) the simple sneaker silhouette has endured, not least thanks to the subtle tinkering employed by Adidas Originals over the years to keep things fresh. The latest version might be the most luxurious yet.
Two new Stan Smith sneakers feature in the Blue Version line's Autumn/Winter 2023 collection. The first – dubbed the Stan Smith CS – adds new colours to the classic design, while the second introduces luxury to the construction. This includes high-gloss leather for the uppers, metallic gold and silver embossing, and hairy suede for the heel tab.
All of the colourways keep the shoe's upper its traditional white, only adding colour for the the heel tab. The stand-out design in the trio uses Adidas' "Bluebird" colour – which gives the Blue Version line its name – for the hairy suede tab.
Adidas' Blue Version collection is due to release via Adidas stores on June 15th, with the new Stan Smith designs included in that drop.
